The Bedworth Society

The Bedworth Society was founded in 1981 to petition for the preservation of the Parsonage, which forms part of the Bedworth Almshouses. It was established for the public benefit of an area comprising of Bedworth, Bulkington, Exhall and the parts of Keresley that are not within the Coventry boundary. 

From September to June the Society hosts monthly public meetings, which feature a guest speaker.

Nicholas Chamberlaine signed his will bequeathing the benefactions, which have been of great assistance to generations of Bedworth people.  His will was in two parts: the first dealt with his benefactions to the Bedworth people, and the second with legacies to his relatives.

Bedworth Heritage Centre

The Bedworth Society has operated a Heritage Centre within a section of Bedworth’s historic and beautiful Almshouses since 2000. The Centre hosts a wide range of events and exhibitions every year, attracting many regular visitors from the local community, as well as people from around the world.

Town Trail

Town Trail

The Bedworth Society town trail is slightly less than a mile and a quarter long and can easily be walked in about an hour.  The trail starts and ends in All Saint’s Square in the town centre, for many years an open market place, with ancient market rights held by the Lords of the Manor.
